Serenity With Modern Technology
The Tokyo Metropolitan Edo Tokyo Museum is located next door to the sumo stadium at Ryogoku. Visitors enter the museum by crossing over a replica of Nihonbashi Bridge which is as wide as the original.
The membrane construction provides a lounge facility for the guests of the EdoTokyo Museum. Two multiple cone structures stand in an angle towards each other in the space of 60m length and to a height of 17m height. Modules of up to five cones were pre-fabricated in one piece without site joints to ensure that, together with the filigrane stainless steel details, the membrane system presents itself at its best.
Another application where Hightex’s position as a world leader in creating tensile structures and fabric architecture in tensioned membranes such as PTFE, PVC, and ETFE is realised.
