Keeping Mercedes On The Move
A new method was created to achieve an imaginative presentation of the Mercedes car A class. The result was a cube, 18m high and 18m wide, with white pvc polyester membrane of 600m2 suspended inside.
The cube consisted of wooden braces and provides the skeleton in which the membrane was suspended from four high points, thus creating a main tent to which an extension can be added which offers another 160 m2. Each of the two "touring" cubes had to last over fifteen stations without any problems. The structure was extremely easy to assemble; assembly and disassembly could be done in five to six hours, due to a concept without any screened connections or clamping joints.
Another application where Hightex’s position as a world leader in creating tensile structures and fabric architecture in tensioned membranes such as PTFE, PVC, and ETFE is realised.
