Landmark On The Refurbished Flon District
The FLON building is located right in the city centre of Lausanne/Switzerland and acts as a landmark on the refurbished Flon district.
The building with its unique designed triangular cushion facade (by architect Brauen & Wälchli) is intended to host high level commercial shops. The facade is build up from a 4-layer cushion with three air chambers and two different internal pressures. The outer layer is made from PTFE-coated glass fabric, the three inner layers from ETFE due to light requirements. The triangular cushions will be illuminated from the inside during night time.
Another application where Hightex’s position as a world leader in creating tensile structures and fabric architecture in tensioned membranes such as PTFE, PVC, and ETFE is realised.
