Refurbishment of Roof System
Hightex was chosen to replace the suspended membrane roof system of the Olympic Hall, a part of the Olympic Centre in Munich, which hosted the Olympic Games in 1972. The Olympic Hall is regularly used to host exhibitions, concerts staged by world famous artists, and other annual events such as the well-known six-days cycling race.
After 36 years the triple layer insulated membrane system, totalling some 18,500 square meters, needed to be renewed.
The membrane system is installed below the transparent plastic sheet roof and required a custom installation concept, which Hightex developed specially for the project. Hightex was awarded the contract based on its sound technical solution for this prestigious project.
Hightex has previously worked on several projects for the City of Munich.
